Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray was selected with the first pick in the NFL Draft by the Cardinals

Kyler Murray is the first athlete to be selected in the first rounds of both the NFL and Major League Baseball drafts.

The Heisman Trophy winner and Oklahoma quarterback was selected with the Number One pick by the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL draft on Thursday.

The Oakland A's picked Murray with the ninth pick of the 2018 draft after a standout career as a center fielder for the Sooners.

Oakland offered Murray a four-and-a-half million dollar signing bonus and allowed him to return to Oklahoma to play football for his junior season.

As the top pick, Murray stands to make about 30 million dollars in his first NFL contract.

The San Francisco 49ers then selected Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa number-two.

Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams went third overall to the New York Jets.

The second and third rounds take place Friday, with the draft wrapping up on Saturday with rounds four through seven.
