A representative with FCA Canada has confirmed employees are being short-shifted at the Windsor Assembly Plant.
Head of Communications LouAnn Gosselin says shifts are being adjusted due to severe weather near a part supplier.
AM800 News has learned the part shortage stems from a tornado that touched down in Dayton, Ohio cutting power to feeder plant Mahle Behr Dayton.
Reports say the plant still doesn't have power and is currently producing a limited number of parts with the use of generators.
There's no word yet when the part supply will return to normal.
The latest forecasts show severe weather and possibly tornadoes will continue to pound the Ohio Valley to the mid-Atlantic for the next couple of days.
