OFSAA hockey returns to Windsor-Essex in March.
Boys hockey tournament convener John Talerico says next year's event will have a special meaning to it.
He says the event will be in honour of Father Ronald Cullen.
"This championship in the Windsor Essex County region will be in honour of Father Cullen a long time coach at Assumption College High School," says Talerico. "A lot of ties to the area, big impact on a lot of student athletes life."
Talerico adds Father Cullen focused on disciple and working hard.
"He really had an impact on adults in this area who have continued to send that message to their children," says Talerico. "So easy decision to honour him."
Next year's event will feature both the boys and girls championships.
The tournament runs from March 18th to March 21st at a number of arenas across Windsor-Essex.
32 teams will be competing.
Father Cullen passed away in 2010.
