A 36-year-old Windsor man faces a number of charges after an off-duty police officer spotted suspicious activity.
The officer was in the area of Lincoln Rd. and Somme Ave. just after 2am today.
A man who had just been near the door of a residence was acting suspiciously.
The officer identified himself and told the man he was under arrest.
The suspect tried to run and after a brief pursuit was arrested.
An investigation found a trail of footprints in the fresh snow to a number of other homes.
The suspect was in possession of several items that turned out to be stolen.
Further investigation linked the suspect with the use of credit cards stolen from a vehicle last September.
The man is charged with theft, possession of stolen property, fraud, use of a stolen credit card and prowling at night.
