The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Women's Volleyball Championship is now underway at St.Clair College.
The tournament kicked off Friday night with the opening ceremony held at the St.Clair Athletic Centre.
This is the first time the college has hosted the Ontario volleyball championships.
The tournament features the top eight women's college volleyball teams in the province.
The winner will be moving on to the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Nationals in Victoria, BC.
St.Clair College's Athletic Coordinator, Jay Shewfelt, says the tournament has received positive feedback from the community.
He says the event is a way to celebrate Windsor's athletes.
"It is great for the students, it is great for the community," says Shewfelt. "There is a lot of fans, family and friends. The other neat thing is these games are being broadcast through WE TV, basically across the world. It is highlighting St.Clair College not just here but online, as well."

Shewfelt says the tournament would not have happened without the community's support.
"We have gotten a ton of compliments from the teams participating about our facility and volunteers," says Shewfelt. "It is overwhelming with the amount of people who come out to help with something like this. It has been a great experience."
He says the event is open to people of all ages.
"If you can get out here and watch Saturday and Sunday it is good entertainment and is a lot of fun," says Shewfelt.
Adults aged 13 and up can purchase tournament passes for $20 a piece. Children under 12 can attend for free.
The gold medal match is set for Sunday evening at 5 p.m.
