The Health Unit says bluegreen algae has not been detected

The first week of beach testing this season by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is underway.

Results indicate no beaches are closed but swimming is not recommended at Mettawas Beach in Kingsville because of high E.Coli bacteria counts.

Swimming is OK at the eight other beaches in the area.

The Health Unit says blue-green algae has not been detected.
