Quick actions by homeowner prevented fire from spreading
Quick action is credited with keeping damage to a minimum following a house fire in Amherstburg.
Crews were called to 257 McCurdy Dr. off of Sandwich St. just after 5:00pm Monday.
Officials say the fire started in the basement and the owner had it out before firefighters arrived.
A working smoke alarm alerted residents to the fire.
No injuries are reported.
The cause is under investigation, and damage is estimated at $3,000.
