The Town of Tecumseh is re-thinking its new hard-sided garbage container bylaw.
It took effect January 1st in an effort to eliminate a growing rodent problem.
But after a number of complaints, the town is going to consider an exemption for some rural areas where rodents aren't a problem.
Mayor Gary McNamara says some work needs to be done before the bylaw can be changed. "We still have a problem in terms of dealing with the rodent population and the skunks and possums and so forth. So we're trying to fix a problem, obviously, and sometimes one size doesn't fit all and we've all come to realize that."
McNamara expects a report for a future council meeting with further details on the proposed exemption.
