Provincial Police do not expect to lay charges after an investigation into the financial affairs of the Caldwell First Nation.
The OPP Major Crimes Unit and Anti-rackets Branch had investigated after 2 separate allegations were made regarding a POW WOW in 2016.
A forensic audit of the books associated with the event showed nearly $600,000 had been spent on the one-day show.
Questions had been raised about a contract for close to $200,000 for video services that was given to the son of the then Chief.
Band Chief Louise Hillier and her council were suspended in June.
At a band membership meeting over this past weekend, Hillier and one band councillor were removed from office.
