No arrests were made in Windsor following a national co-ordinated investigation into human trafficking.
But Windsor police say 18 females believed to be involved in the sex trade industry were identified and spoken to.
The women were 20-40-years of age and originated from cities across Ontario and the U.S.
Detective Sergeant, Nunzio Tramontozzi from Toronto police says the women were found through "investigative probes" by police.
"They way they do that is they look at ads on backpage.com because that's where most of them are exploited. They set up dates and at that point they speak with them and if they are being forced into the sex trade then police do their investigation," says Tramontozzi.
As part of Operation Northern Spotlight, 25 people in Ontario were charged with 67 offences.
Officers from 36 police services across Ontario were investigating people who were involved in the sex trade, potentially against their will.
This is the fifth installment of Operation North Spotlight.
