An eight game suspension has been handed down for Kareem Hunt of the Cleveland Browns.
The NFL said on Friday he was being suspended for two "physical altercations," one of which Hunt was seen on video shoving and kicking a woman in a hotel hallway in Kansas City.
Hunt will not be eligible to play until November and has said he will not appeal the leagues findings which also included an investigation into an incident at Put-In-Bay island in Ohio.
''I want to again apologize for my actions last year,'' Hunt said in a statement released by the Browns. ''I know that my behavior hurt a lot of people, and I again apologize to them. I respect the league's decision on discipline, and I appreciate the time I spent with Commissioner Goodell last week. I'm grateful for my time with the Browns over the last month and thankful to all the people in the organization that have welcomed me.
The league recently completed its investigation that included a review of law enforcement records, video and electronic communications and interviews with witnesses as well as Hunt.
According to the league, Hunt has been receiving counseling in recent months assured Commissioner Goodell he "accepts responsibility for his conduct and the discipline that has been imposed.
