The Ministry of Labour is investigating an injury that occurred on Wednesday at the NextStar Battery Plant.
The ministry confirmed that a worker got his glove caught in a machine, and his thumb was amputated.
The worker is reportedly in hospital in London.
The ministry confirmed that worker was wearing cut-proof gloves at the time of the incident.
