The next phase of improvements for Texas Rd. is coming to Amherstburg Town Council Monday night.
Administration is recommending Coco Paving be awarded a $687,000 tender to resurface the road and add shoulder improvements between Thomas Rd. and the 3rd Concession.
It's the third phase of a project that Councillor Marc Renaud says has been well received by residents.
"Very positive feedback from the residents, so I believe we should be in the same situation once this is completed," he says.
Renaud tells AM800 News the tender came back on par with what the town had quoted for the project.
"Demand is out there for contractors and it seems to inflate some of the prices, but I'm happy with what they have come back with on the tender," says Renaud.
He doesn't see much debate on the decision.
"Council's initiative was to move ahead and my plans would be to move ahead with the project," he says.
Amherstburg Town Council gets under way at 6pm at town hall.
