The city of Windsor is talking Pump Track in the Little River Coridor.
Officials held an open house at the WFCU Centre in east Windsor Thursday night to show the next phase of the city's off-road cycling plan.
Council green lit a project that will see $500,000 spent on off-road cycling tracks in the east-Windsor near Little River and in Malden Park in west-Windsor back in June.
Two designs for the Little River pump track were on display, both showing a series of jumps and hills, with one consisting of modular fiber glass design, and the other being custom built using asphalt.
Jonathan Gignac and a group of his friends built the original track that started the conversation back in November of 2017; the city demolished that track due to safety concerns, but responded to public demand to build a new city sanctioned track.
The 28 year old says his fellow cyclists are beyond excited.
"Each park they're planning on designing is actually going to be at least double what we were fighting for," he says, "That's all we knew [the track] and we just wanted to keep what we had, but now it's all for the better clearly."
