There is a new web based platform for service providers and job seekers in Windsor-Essex.
It's called Choreseek and will cater to those looking for jobs as well as employers looking to hire.
"Basically it's going to be an online service marketplace so we're going to have service providers offering their skills and then anyone looking to hire them can do that through our website," says Co-founder Dan Soutar.
Co-founder Brett Lyons says the platform allows people to market their services and gain employment.
Lyons says they now need service providers to sign up.
"Right now when they go on the website it's just basically a landing page they're going to see," says Lyons. "So right now we're just trying to accumulate as much service providers as we can. So we'll have enough in at least a couple categories before launch so someone can go in there and hopefully get a few different options."
Soutar says there are similar services in the United States.
"We haven't seen one that's really taken off in Canada," says Soutar. "There's definitely been some attempts but just with the way technology has affected the way people interact online kind of gave us the idea to give it a shot here and we think Windsor would be a great area to see if this is going to work."
Lyons says the service will allow providers to interact with those looking to hire.
"We have the service providers sign up and the seeker were calling them go on and hire that provider," says Lyons.
Lyons and Soutar are from LaSalle.
The service will be officially launched at the end of January.
