The town has passed a new bylaw but rejected another
There's a new bylaw in Amherstburg.
It's a public property tree bylaw that CAO John Michelli says deals with the maintenance or removal of trees on town property and public right-of-ways. "Council will have the final decision if a tree needs to be cut down or trimmed. We have to let council know that we're going to be doing it and we should attach an arborist report to identify the issues with the tree."
Town council has rejected a bylaw dealing with trees on private property.
The public tree bylaw goes into effect immediately.
