Most of Michigan is shutting down because of COVID-19.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer is issuing a "Stay Home, Stay Safe" order, closing down all non-essential work for the next three weeks to try to stop the spread of the virus.
Speaking on Monday afternoon, she notes there are exceptions, including the healthcare field, restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, sanitation and public works employees, food and agriculture workers, banks, law enforcement and public safety, and the defense industry among others.
Michigan has recorded 15 deaths to date from COVID-19, and 1,232 confirmed cases.
