WeTech Alliance is trying to help companies unlock its grassroots potential.
It launched a new program called "Innovation Catalyst" which is designed to get frontline employees to come up with solutions to a company's problems.
"It's a belief in the power of frontline staff," says WeTech Alliance's Irek Kusmierczyk.
Enwin was the first company to sign up and 15 of its employees received certificates after graduating from the year-long program on Wednesday.
For the employee, it allows him or her a chance to feel more comfortable to present top brass with problems and solutions.
For companies, it gives them the opportunity to listen to its frontline staff who have viable ideas.
Director of Corporate Innovations at WeTech Alliance Adam Frye says the program encourages employee engagement in a company.
"Allowing these employees, who don't get that opportunity very often or who maybe want to, but it is a challenging avenue to get to depending on how big your organization is, so a big part of that piece is actually walking through what are the core elements of a good presentation," says Frye.
He adds it also helps a company with long-term planning.
"When you are looking at succession planning, if you are looking for employees that are really really high potential that might be buried in the grassroots of the organization, this is going to help you identify those folks and maybe you can get them on the executive path."
The Greater Essex County District School Board and Schlegel Villages have also signed up for the program.
