There's a new outdoor learning space for families and children in Windsor to explore.
Connections Early Years Family Centre and the Aboriginal Child Resource Centre on Giles Boulevard held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening.
The outdoor space includes a gated area with a teepee with stars and moon cut-outs, a dry river of rocks, a canoe, along with a garden.
The centre is for family with young children and is free to enter.
Executive Director Barb Brown says one aspect is a huge hit with the kids.
"Created a beautiful teepee reflecting the sun, the moon and the stars, and they built that from a picture on a piece of paper. Children are able to go in, you can see the star's shadows right now, isn't that beautiful?"

She says it's about offering a 'creative environment' for the children.
"You don't need a lot of money, you just need to come outside and it is amazing what a rock can do for a child, an earthworm crawling through the grass and how fascinating that can be."
Brown says last year, there were 18,000 visits at the centre.
"Connections supports families with children 0-6 years of age, we do that in a number of ways, it is all about supporting their healthy development and that includes having an outdoor space for them to explore."
Students from the St. Clair College Landscape and Design class helped design the space.
