The South Windsor Recreation Complex has a new name.
Capri Pizza has won the naming rights and the facility on Pulford Rd. will now be known as the 'Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex.'
The centre recently expanded to include the Oakwood Community Centre programs, so the city put out a Request For Proposals for naming rights.
Two local companies submitted bids and Capri Pizzeria won.
One of Capri's owners Kevork Kalaydjian hopes this gives them a bit of an edge in the competitive pizza market in Windsor.
"I hope so, absolutely," laughs Kalaydjian. "Windsor is known for pizza, we are just giving back to the community right now and I think that is our foremost goal right now."
The winning bid was $160,000 over ten years and Kalaydjian says the expense is worth it.
He says it's a proud moment for the company.

"I thought it was a perfect fit for us," he says.
Capri Pizzeria has been in Windsor for over 40 years.
Mayor Drew Dilkens says the money from the naming rights will be invested back into the facility either through upgrades or enhanced community programming.
