The new head coach for the Lancer women's hockey team has her first recruit.
Deanna Iwanicka's first official recruit is forward Maggie Peterson.
The Edmonton native has enjoyed several successful years for Northern Alberta X-Treme Female Prep where she was an offensive leader and helped the X-Treme capture several tournament and league play victories.
"I am thrilled to add a player like Maggie to our roster," said Coack Iwanicka. "I've known Maggie for long time, as she attend my hockey school as a young player, and I have her develop into a more elite player."
"Windsor has everything that I am looking for in both academic programing as well as in pursuing my passion of hockey," said Peterson. "I am thrilled to be a part of the Lancer program and look forward to the journey with the team and coach Iwanicka. I instantly noticed a strong connection with the girls on the team and I am excited to be a part of this."
While at Windsor, Peterson will study in the Faculty of Human Kinetics and work towards her degree in medicine.
