A new foundation has been launched in Windsor-Essex to help families with children who have Down syndrome.
It's called the Chasing Hazel Foundation.
Stephanie and Matt Seguin were inspired to create the foundation after having their daughter Hazel who has Down syndrome.
The foundation will provide support by offering playgroups for children up to 12 years of age as well as financial help.
Hazel was born with Down syndrome and by the time she was six-months old, she already had two serious medical procedures, only offered out of town.
Stephanie Seguin says Down syndrome is not scary.
"I remember sitting at the Ronald McDonald House one day and looking around and she was in the NICU and I remember thinking and feeling so incredibly blessed to have such a perfect daughter and I couldn't handle someone feeling sorry for us," says Hazel's mother Stephanie Seguin.
She says the focus of the foundation is about inclusion and accepting people's differences.
