A celebration of pickles is coming to Amherstburg.
A new festival called Pickle Me Softly was announced Monday at Wolfhead Distillery at 7781 Howard Avenue in Amherstburg.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wolfhead’s property and will include local vendors and artisans, pickle-inspired food and drinks, and DJ Koul (Koullies Stylianou) playing a variety of yacht rock music. Admission is free.
Event creator Doug Robbins, better known as Doug the Foodie, says people love pickles and we should celebrate them.
“Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex grow the most cucumbers. These cucumbers get harvested into jars of pickles, so where else would we have it? There’s not a festival like this on this side of Toronto. We’re the only one in southwestern Ontario. We’re the first one in southwestern Ontario, and we grow these in fields everywhere, so we should celebrate them as well,” he says.
Director of Marketing at Wolfhead, Danielle Moldovan, says this is going to be such a unique event.
“We will have pickle Caesars; we are currently putting a menu together with five signature pickle drinks that guests will be able to enjoy. They will only be able to get them that day. Our kitchen is drumming up some creative menu items to go along with those drinks. So there will be some good sampling, good eats, and good beats,” she says.

Robbins says it’s going to be a great vibe.
“If you like a good time, if you like pickles, if you like great music, or if you just want to see what’s going on and do a little retail therapy, this is the place to come,” he says.
Food vendors, makers, artisans, creators, and pickle-loving businesses are encouraged to get involved. Businesses interested in participating are encouraged to connect with Doug the Foodie for vendor information and registration, with around 30 spaces available.
