There's a new food delivery options available in Windsor.
Uber eats has announced it is now operating here.
The service allows restaurants without a current delivery to send meals to customers.
It also allows people to order and have food delivered from a restaurant that doesn't offer such a service.
Uber eats Senior Communications Associate Susie Heath says the 13 community launch is their largest ever.
She says you download the app and it's very easy to use.
"you input your delivery location, you pick your meal, you place your order, same as with an Uber ride, you can track the progress of your delivery and get live updates as it's being prepared and delivered to your destination"
She says they've already set up partnerships with several local eateries.
"we typically start with a number of restaurants and look to local favorites in each community, reach out to them and see if they're interested and then once we have a number of restaurants we bring the app up to market"
She says initially the service will be mostly in the core area of Windsor.
"we start with a smaller centre and as we start to grow we expand further outside maybe say for example the downtown core of a city, so certainly that's something we expect see in Windsor in the coming months"
Heath says they've already set up partnerships with dozens of restaurants.
