A new executive director for Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor-Essex.
Becky Parent has been hired for the job after handling the position on an interim basis between January and March of this year.
Board of Directors President Kavaughn Boismier says they cast a big net looking for the right person.
"The fact that she worked for Big Sisters before it merged with Big Brothers, makes the transition easier," according to Boismier. "She's grown as a leader that has really become our brand. It was a perfect dove-tail in bringing Becky on board because her philosophies perfectly align with our mission at Big Brothers Big Sisters."
Boismier says Parent has already made left a big impression on the board. "Becky started adding value from day one. We don't receive all of our funding from national, and the ideas that Becky brings to the table enable us to reach a higher level, that we can mentor and provide positivity to more youth."
Big Brothers Big Sisters supports about 1,500 clients a year.
Parent replaces John Sutton, who left at the end of last year to take a job with a not-for-profit agency in Essex County.
