Essex Windsor EMS is almost ready to move into the new Dougall Ave station.
The building, next to the former building at 2620 Dougall Ave., is in the final stages of construction.
EMS Chief Bruce Krauter says the move is underway, and the goal is for the new location to be turn key, and to be in the in the new building by early to mid-February.
"We extended the lease with the current, temporary location on Dougall just a contingency that if something happens, we can't get something, a phone line can't get installed, whatever it may be, we have a contingency that we still have some place to go," says Krauter.

Krauter says construction is behind schedule because crews had to remove more than 500-tonnes of contaminated soil. The original budget for the project was $2.5-million. The new facility will be much larger with three ambulance bays, a fuel depot and improved staff quarters and storage.
