A new dock for the LaSalle Rowing Club has come to fruition.
The new specialty dock will allow for low water access making getting in and out of row boats, canoes and kayaks much easier.
The club approached town council earlier this year and finally came to an agreement which will see the club contribute $20,000 toward the $60,000 project.
Club President Kevin Nyman tells CTV News Saturday's official ribbon cutting is the end of a long journey.
"It's been a work in progress, but we couldn't be happier to have it in," he says. "It's something we needed to get done, so this ensure that we're going to have safe access to the water for years to come."
The club has been around for 48-years and currently has 40 members, but Nyman says that number is growing since word got out about the new dock.
The club will pay $10,000 in 2018 for construction and an additional $1,000 per year for the next ten years because it's the primary user of the dock.
