There is a new day time program for adults living with dementia available at Huron Lodge in south Windsor.
It's called Daybreak at the Lodge and features music, walks, puzzles, darts along with physical and cognitive games.
It's funded by the Erie St. Clair LHIN in partnership with the local Alzheimer Society and the City of Windsor.
Sayed Daher is the Alzheimer Society's Adult Day Program Supervisor.
He says the program is already offered at the society's building on Richmond Street but due to demand and public feedback a second site was created.
Daher tells AM800 News the program provides a safe, social and stimulating environment for someone with dementia.
"The clients that come here and their families, we're looking to provide a meaningful day for them, fun activities that they enjoy," says Daher. "We want to get to know them, found out the things that they enjoy and build a day around them."
