Some unique signage for pedestrian crossovers is coming to LaSalle.
Council has decided to place pedestrian crossover signs in the middle of the road on Normandy St. at Cenotaph Park and Steve Budimir Park on a trial basis.
The town's Director of Public Works Peter Marra says the signs will be impossible to miss.
"They are reflective so they will show up and again it's placed on the centre line where motorists should not be driving, they should be driving on the right side of the yellow centre line," says Marra. "They should be avoiding them easily, even with them being in the centre of the road."
If they are struck, Marra says the signs will simply bend and pop back up.
"If it's hit it will bend over and the car will roll over it," he says. "It has a yield sign and it has a pedestrian symbol on it so it reminds motorists to yield to the pedestrians."
The new crossover signs will be installed over the next four weeks and will be taken down in the winter.
