The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association is introducing a new program.
It's a coupon program geared towards university and college students as well as employees and faculty members.
DWBIA Executive Director, Debi Croucher, says 54 businesses are on board and are offering discounts on products and services.
She says it's a great way for university and college students to get familiar with downtown businesses.
"We thought there was an opportunity there to integrate both educational institutions, bring them out and introduce them to the many offerings that downtown has, with the university's School of Creative Arts opening in the fall of 2017, there's even greater opportunity to showcase all that we have and introduce folks who may not be familiar with downtown's offerings."
Croucher says it's a way for businesses to showcase their establishments.
"It's a good marketing opportunity for them. It's at no cost to them to participate from a DWBIA prospective and it brings new folks into their establishments, hopefully builds that loyalty and customer for life."
The coupon program is called "Our Students. Our Future."
Coupons are available online at www.downtownwindsorcoupons.ca or by visiting the DWBIA's Facebook page.
