Ward 10 in Windsor is getting some new bus shelters.
Councillor Paul Borrelli is using $40,000 from his ward funds to buy six new state-of-the-art Transit Windsor bus shelters.
"I looked at various possibilities like road construction, but $40,000 doesn't go very far and it happened to be the $40,000 is perfect for bus shelters," he says.
The shelters are solar powered and high-tech so people can use them to power their cell phone battery.
Borrelli adds by using his ward funds for bus shelters, the city can use provincial funds to install new bus shelters in other areas.
The first two bus shelters will be installed in the next few weeks, and remainder will be installed by November.
The project was approved by the city April 16th.
