Provincial police have released the results of Operation Corridor, a safety blitz on transport trucks.
A total of 697 charges were laid against transport truck drivers across the province during the crackdown on June 13th and 14th.
Nearly 1,700 trucks were stopped during the 24-hour blitz and 63 were taken out of service.
Speeding led the list of offences, with 226 charges being laid.
Defective equipment ranked second at 176 charges.
OPP have responded to over 3,000 transport truck-related crashes so far this year, with investigations pointing to the driver of the transport truck as the at-fault driver in a large number of the collisions.
