Chatham-Kent police handed out nearly 500 tickets during Canada Road Safety Week earlier this month.
The national campaign, running May 1 to 8, targeted impaired, distracted, and aggressive driving, along with seatbelt use.
Chatham officers issued 479 provincial offence notices and 10 Criminal Code charges across the municipality.
That includes impaired driving offences, dangerous driving, and drivers caught behind the wheel while prohibited.
Speeding made up the bulk of the charges, with more than 360 tickets handed out.
Officers also ran 13 RIDE programs, stopping close to 15 hundred vehicles.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service reminds all motorists to drive responsibly, obey traffic laws and to prioritize safety to protect lives on the roadways.
