Canada's National Ballet School will be scouting talent in Windsor this weekend.
Young dancers can tryout Saturday morning when the National Auditions Tour makes a stop at St. Clair College.
The minimum age to audition is 10, and no prior ballet training is required for students aged 12 and under.
Ballet teacher Martine Lamy says they're looking for kids with potential.
"First of all, kids that love to dance, that's first and foremost. We look for flexibility, that's a major part of dancing and ballet. Mobility at their joints, musicality is huge, and coordination too. There's so much to coordinate in ballet," says Lamy.
She says they see a wide-range of talent during these auditions.
"You really see the kids that really want it, that's always exciting. You see the kids who are just there wondering what this is all about. There will be disappointments and some real highlights too," says Lamy
Dancers for the specially designed ballet classes are assessed for quality of movement, coordination and suitability.
Audition for the full-time professional ballet program is Saturday, January 7 from 9:30am to 12:30pm at St. Clair College main campus.
