The name of an off-duty Windsor police officer charged after a weekend incident has been released.
Windsor police say Constable Ken Burt is charged with impaired driving, exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit and four counts of assault.
Police say last Saturday, officers were called to the area of Greenpark Boulevard and Wyandotte Street East for a report of an assault.
Police determined the incident involved a group of vehicles that had been travelling along the roadway. They all stopped and an altercation ensued.
According to police, several people reported being assaulted during the altercation.
Burt has 20-years seniority with the force.
He has been released on a promise to appear.
Burt is also suspended from duty.
