A group of Windsor area Muslim women calling themselves "REACH" are helping out the women at Hiatus House.
They have put together 25 gift baskets for the women, containing treats and items like scarves and gift cards.

Samia Ali is a friend of a Hiatus House staffer and identified there was a need.
She says the group of about 30 women connected through the social media "What's App" platform for everything from communicating about the project to deciding what to buy on the shopping excursions.
Ali says they wanted to make Mother's Day special for the women facing difficult circumstances.
She says this was their way to help out, and the name REACH fits what they're doing: "we all belong to the Muslim community of Windsor we want to reach out to the entire community of Windsor The community should know there is a shelter in Windsor and it will be nice to reach out to them and it's like reaching out in all directions"
Hiatus House is a 42 bed emergency shelter for abused women and their children.
