It appears a fix is on the way for a section of Highway 3 near Manning Rd. that has buckled six times since last summer.
County Warden Gary McNamara says the Ministry of Transportation is expected to issue a tender by July 31.
As heard on AM800 News earlier this week, the highway has buckled three times already this summer with the latest being on Monday.
He says it's appears the province knows what's causing the issue.
"They think in their mind that they got a solution in hand in terms of the issue of those expansion joints and how to remedy them," says McNamara.
McNamara says county staff has been in contact with the MTO.
"They've been meeting and having that conversation and so now it looks like finally we're going to get some action and get that stretch of road fixed," says McNamara.

With record breaking heat expected this weekend, McNamara believes the highway could buckle again.
"We've had six of them, those occurrences since last year, three this year alone, I firmly believe until it's remedied and repaired, it's only a matter of when it's going to happen again," says McNamara. "So telling our drivers to drive that stretch of road carefully."
McNamara says the county will get a better idea on time lines when the tender is issued.
He anticipates most of the work will be done by the fall.
In July, the MTO responded to AM800 News and stated that the ministry would, "review and assess the condition of the joints on that section of Highway 3 to ensure they are functioning as designed."
