Mother nature gets the credit for a successful 30th annual Essex Fun Fest.
Event Chair Joe Garon says ride revenues were up 6% and he estimates attendance was about 20,000 people over the four-day festival.
"Attendance was up, we had some weather to deal with on the Friday night but it only rained for about 25 minutes and everybody came back to the park," he says.
He pointed out that Saturday was extra busy.
"Saturday and Sunday were very good weather. Usually, the second weekend in July is very humid and the weather was ideal this year."
The festival consisted of rides, games, live entertainment, a beer tent, fireworks and a parade.
