Customs officers near Sarnia have seized a half-ton of marijuana.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, officers inspected an Ontario plated truck heading into Michigan over the Blue Water Bridge Monday.
The manifest for the shipment listed office furniture as the truck's cargo, but more than 1,000 lbs. of pot was discovered instead.
Multiple locations throughout the state were listed as drop off points for the cargo, according to the release.
The Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBPA) says the COVID-19 pandemic hasn't slowed attempts to smuggle marijuana into Michigan, with more than 4,000 lbs. being seized since March.
