Sections of Front Road in LaSalle are no longer flooded after some heavy rain on Tuesday night.
All four lanes between Laurier Drive and Delaware Avenue were under water and police along with the town's public works department shut the area down for a couple of hours.
Mayor Marc Bondy says the pumps were running but could not keep up with the amount of rainfall in such a short period of time.
"We've applied for some infrastructure grants to add some pumps along Front Road,” he says. “And we're hearing that they're looking at those grants again so hopefully we'll have some good news.”
Bondy says it's concerning the same section of roadway keeps flooding.
"We're not losing shoreline erosion but we're having to deal with this flooding that happens once and a while," he says.
The same section of roadway flooded last summer and one lane in each direction was shut down for a number of weeks.
The town has since re-paved the section.
Front Road near Reaume Road was also flooded on Tuesday night.
