A Windsor city councillor says upgrades to the Windsor Public Library Budimir branch will be done sooner whether than later.
Paul Borrelli says council has set aside an additional $1.5-million to the south Windsor branch from the Canderel sale.
He says council already ear marked about $2-million for the project.
Borrelli says Budimir is one of the busiest libraries in the city.
"Budimir is very important because it services not only ward 10 which is my ward but it services ward 1 which is Fred Francis' ward and actually it does the whole south Windsor even Hilary Payne's ward which does not have a library," says Borrelli.
Borrelli adds there is a chance the city could expropriate some land near the library.
"There's going to be a whole addition to get but there's another problem, there's going to have to be parking facilities," says Borrelli. "One of the reasons why it's going to be delayed a bit but in the next couple of years it will be done because we'll have to expropriate some property in order to facilitate the parking requirements."
The Budimir branch is located on Grand Marais Road West near Dominion.
