A heavily traveled road in the Town of LaSalle is getting bike lanes.
On Tuesday, town council gave the thumbs up for bike lanes on Normandy Road between Huron Church Line and Malden Road.
Deputy Mayor Marc Bondy says it's the second major roadway in LaSalle to get bike lanes.
He says the first was Todd Lane.
"Todd Lane is a wider road but obviously administration would not recommend painting the bike lanes if Normandy wasn't wide enough," says Bondy.
The stretch of roadway that will get bike lanes is 2500m in length.
The cost is roughly $30,000.
That's for line painting and the installation of signage.
The bike lanes will be installed this summer.
