The Toronto Blue Jays have a new manager.
The club has announced it's hired Charlie Montoyo, who spent this past season as the bench coach for the Tampa Bay Rays.
He managed the Durham Bulls AAA team from 2007 to 2014 and was named International League manager of the year in 2010 and 2013.
Montoyo, 53, joined the Rays as a third base coach in 2015.
He played 10 seasons as an infielder with the Milwaukee Brewers, Montreal Expos and Philadelphia Phillies organizations.
The Blue Jays parted ways with manager John Gibbons after the team went 73-89 this past season.
Welcome aboard, Skip!
