Claims on social media have said the electrical system on the ship is not working properly

Ontario's Ministry of Transportation is denying there are problems with the electrical system on the Pelee Islander 2.

The ship built in Chile, is in Kingsville undergoing preparation and staff training before going into service.

Claims on social media have said the electrical system on the ship is not working properly.

A ministry spokesperson tells AM800 News the electrical system is working properly as designed.

Liane Fisher-Bloxam adds the electrical system is designed to North American standards.

The process is taking longer than expected and there's no date for the ferry to go into service.
