Windsor Council is being asked to put an addition million dollars into the WFCU Centre to accommodate requirements of hosting the Memorial Cup.
A report comes to council October 3 listing the projects and their individual costs.
WFCU Centre Manager Ray Mensour says there are eight individual projects that are required.
He says an additional media space at the catwalk level is required because the current media space can only handle about 20 people: "basically above the suite level we'd have another level dedicated for the media to be able to cover the event. We're expecting approximately 150 people, 150 media to attend the Memorial Cup"
Mensour says approval of the report is on a tight deadline to be able to get engineered drawings and schematics done in time to complete construction.
He says at least one additional dressing room is required as well as other spaces for such things as the CHL room and the drug testing room.
Mensour adds that if the World Juniors comes here in the future they'll require five dedicated dressing rooms.
Mensour says other upgrades include enhanced internet and electrical capacity, new rinkboard and glass as well as changes to improve traffic flow in the parking lot areas.
He says the question of improving the number of parking spaces has been left for council to direct whether further options should be explored.
