A familiar name will be returning behind the bench for the Windsor Spitfires.
General Manager Warren Rychel has announced Mike Weber has agreed to a three-year deal to return to the club as the assistant coach.
The 30-year-old Weber played 201 regular season games with the club from 2003 to 2007 and was the team captain during the 2006-2007 season.
Weber joined Head Coach Trevor Letowski and Associate Coach Jerrod Smith behind the bench in January 2018.
He admits being behind the bench is mentally exhausting.
"You are trying to keep your hand on a lot of things, talking to players, watching the game and you are getting line matches and counting face-offs. I think last year was a huge opportunity to learn and see if this is something I wanted to do going forward," he says.
As for the future, his goal is to be a head coach.
