The Windsor Jewish community is honouring the Windsor Fire Department.
As part of its menorah lighting ceremony Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Devonshire Mall, in front of the old Sears, the Chabad of Windsor is recognizing the local fire dept. and its benefit fund.
"The menorah is going to be designed for the Windsor Fire Dept," says Rabbi Sholom Galperin speaking on AM800's the Afternoon News.
"It is an amazing event," he says. "In years, we have had hundreds of people that are coming out and it brings the community together and showing that light dispels old darkness that there is in the world."
Included in the lighting ceremony is an 8ft. dreidel.
The event helps to celebrate Hanukkah which kicked off December 2, 2018
