An Amherstburg councillor is looking to make a switch.
After sitting on council for one term, Leo Meloche has decided to run for the deputy mayor's seat.
He feels now is the right time to make the jump, saying "we made a lot of in roads over the last four years and I just felt that I could contribute further in the position of deputy mayor,"
Meloche says he decided to run for deputy mayor about a month ago.
"The support that I've been receiving and the sort of mulling around what my strengths and weaknesses in defence of taking on the position and I felt I was ready to make that move," he says.
The current deputy mayor is Bart DiPasquale who has yet to announce his intentions.
Also filing on Tuesday include Mayor Aldo DiCarlo who is seeking re-election.
Bob Rozankovic also filed and is running for Deputy Mayor.
