Team ownership and head coach Stan Van Gundy will be meeting this week

The Pistons and head coach Stan Van Gundy are meeting this week to discuss the future of the franchise.

The "Detroit Free Press" reports the first meeting between the two sides was to have taken place Monday night.

Van Gundy has one season left on the five-year, 35-million-dollar contract he signed with Detroit in May 2014.

The Pistons missed the playoffs this past season.
