Toronto Maple Leafs star centre Auston Matthews says he's feeling well enough to return to game action.
Matthews met with reporters on Tuesday following practice and said he hopes to be in the lineup when the Leafs host the San Jose Sharks Wednesday night at Scotiabank Arena.
He's missed the past 14 games after suffering a shoulder injury in a game against the Winnipeg Jets in late October.
Matthews says he's been "bored to death the past month" and is happy to be back with the team.
Matthews has not yet been medically cleared to return to game action.
The 21-year-old has 16 points in 11 games this NHL season.
